Dr. Senait Fisseha graduated with distinction from both Medical School and Law School at the Southern Illinois University before starting her residency at the University of Michigan in 1999. She was a stellar resident and then a stellar fellow in the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology completing her fellowship in 2006. She has breezed through all her examinations and has maintained an active research interest. She is also very interested in medico-legal issues and is now working with Ed Goldman and the Sexual Rights and Reproductive Justice Program (SRRJ). She is very involved in the American Society for Reproductive Medicine on issues having to do with reproductive law. For a number of years, Dr. Fisseha has directed the Artificial Reproductive Technologies (ART) Program and now is fully engaged in expanding the ART and IVF programs. In addition, Senait is also committed to global health issues and is developing a training program at St. Paul’s Millennium Medical School. A new medical school and hospital dedicated to women’s health issues in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. She has received funding from a variety of sources to provide comprehensive educational enhancements including family planning for the medical students and assist in development of a residency training program based on the Ghana model. In october, she received the Ethiopia’s Ministry of Health’s Highest Award given in recognition of profound contribution to the health sector. Credit to @habeshas_makingmoves
