Ethiopia: Addis Abeba Police Commission said one person sustained a light injury after an abandoned grenade exploded on him this morning in AddisAbeba near AdewaBridge. The Tigirian People Liberation Front (TPLF) is continuing committing crimes against humanity in many forms. The military junta applied ethnic cleansing military operations in different parts of Ethiopia. TPLF trained and assigned assassin groups in Oromia, Benishangul Gumuz and South Nation and Nationalities States’ of Ethiopia and killed many civilians focusing on Amhara. TPLF grew up in butchering its soldiers too in Tigrai and attacked EDF last week. Yesterday also this illegal force slaughtered many Amharas in Maikadra, which was the junta’s stronghold. TPLF labeled the Amhara ethnic as its enemy and is killing civilians for their being Amhara anywhere else. In its entire regime, TPLF slaughtered many Ethiopians in different parts and Ethiopians overthrew it some years ago. However, the junta designed strategies to regain office and killed more Ethiopians. Former criminals who were the mastermind for torture and ethnic cleansing are also masterminds of the ongoing Amhara slaughtering in its territory. The junta is losing strong holds in different warfronts and calling for negotiation to mislead the global community. However, the world knew TPLF’s lifelong conspiracies. It is to get time for consolidating the assassin group. TPLF is a secessionist group who was held power in 1995 lead by blurred political philosophy, said that Revolutionary Democracy and looted Ethiopia for three decades. Ethiopia’s PM declines IGAD mediation in Tigray crisis The Ethiopian Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed, declined a regional mediation by the IGAD leader to mediate the six-day armed conflict between the federal government and the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF).
The Hikayat newspaper reported on Monday that Hamdok who is also the head of the Intergovernmental Authority for Development (IGAD) spoke four times by telephone with Ahmed seeking to convince him to accept the mediation of the regional body.
“But, the Ethiopian Prime Minister said the conflict in the Tigray region was an internal affair that should not be internationalized,” reported the local newspaper citing a source from Hamdok office.
On November 30, 2019, IGAD leaders elected the Sudanese prime minister as chairman of the East African block.
The UNOCHA office in Ethiopia on Saturday called to ensure unfiltered access to the affected recalling that Tigray region is home to approximately 600,000 people dependent on food relief assistance, in addition to 1 million people who receive safety-net assistance.
In a separate development on Sunday, Ahmed removed the foreign minister, his army chief of staff, and the head of the intelligence service.
He appointed the Deputy Prime Minister Demeke Mekonnen Foreign Minister, Deputy Army Chief Birhanu Jula was promoted to Army Chief Of Staff, while the former President of the Amhara region Temesgen Tiruneh was named new Intelligence Chief.
The tension between the federal government and Tigray’s ruling party (TPLF) has been escalating after the organization of regional elections on 9 September despite the official postponement in the whole country due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The armed clashes erupted on 4 November when the Ethiopian army accused the TPLF elements of attacking a military base in near Mekelle airport. Via Sudan Tribune

Ethiopia: The Inter-Religious Council of Ethiopia released statement by first condemning the killings that targeted innocent civilians throughout the country and expressed its condolences. The Inter-Religious Council of Ethiopia also said that it is deeply saddened by the conflict that erupted between the federal government and the Tigray region government. The council said “We would like to remind you that war is destructive. It is the worst option to resort to due to its human and economic cost. Especially, when two brothers are fighting, no one comes out the winner.” In the statement, the council urged the federal government and Tigray regional state to prioritize the safety of citizens and stability of the nation. (1) The council called for an immediate cease fire without any preconditions; (2) It called for a dialogue between the federal government and TPLF; (3) It called for religious leaders to mediate to bring peace; (4) It called upon elders, mothers and influential people to push for reconciliation; (5) It called for media groups to report the situation with utmost caution and with the highest sense of responsibility; (6) It called on the youth to refrain from using ways that will fuel the conflict; (7) It called on security personnel to handle the situation with wisdom and patience; (8) It called upon social media activists to work for peace instead of fueling the conflict. via Addis Standard

Ethiopia: Parliament proposes labeling TPLF, others as terrorist organizations, calls the executive to brief house members on current affairs. On the regular session held today, members of the House of Peoples’ Representatives have called on organizations such as the TPLF and Shene, which have been implicated in the killings of innocent civilians in the West Wellega zone, to be classified as terrorists. The House of Peoples’ Representatives proposed that priority should be given to discussions on the recent killings of innocent people before the regular agenda. The Speaker of the House, Tagesse Chafo, said the council had already prepared its agenda and that a decision had been made to consult with the executive to brief house members on the issue and to ensure decisive measure against TPLF and other groups who the government is accusing to be behind recent killings of civilians in West Wellega zone.
