ለትግራይ የሚቀርበው እርዳታ ተቋረጠ | Food aid interrupted due to the new conflict in Ethiopia – Addis Daily
In northern Ethiopia, the humanitarian situation continues to be alarming. There are unconfirmed reports of displacement in frontline areas in Amhara and Afar regions.
In Amhara, a curfew was imposed in Debark (North Gondar Zone), Dessie (South Wello Zone) and Waldiya (North Wello Zone) from 7pm till 6am, impacting civilian movement, access to medical emergency services, and commercial business.
In Tigray, deliveries of humanitarian supplies by road into Tigray remain suspended since last week (24 August).
Similarly, the UN Humanitarian Air Service (UNHAS) to and from Tigray was suspended on 25 August halting the transport of operational cash and movement of aid personnel.

Addis Media:ዶ/ር አብይ እና የቱርክ ፕሬዝዳንት | Erdoğan backs peaceful resolution to Ethiopia’s Tigray conflict
#Abiy #Erdoğan #Ethiopia #Turkey
Turkish President Recep Tayyip 0has backed a peaceful resolution to Ethiopia’s Tigray conflict that has displaced tens of thousands and left millions hungry. He also said Turkey was willing to mediate between Ethiopia and Sudan to resolve a separate border dispute.
Erdoğan told visiting Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed on Wednesday that the war-hit country’s “peace and integrity is important to us”.
“If the situation deteriorates, all countries in the region will be affected,” Erdogan told a joint media appearance with Abiy.
Northern Ethiopia has been racked by fighting since last November, when Abiy sent troops to topple the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF), the region’s then governing party.
Tens of thousands of Ethiopians have fled to refugee camps in Sudan, to escape a conflict that the United Nations said has pushed 400,000 people into famine-like conditions.
In July, the UN warned more than 100,000 children in Tigray could suffer life-threatening malnutrition in the next 12 months.
Ankara and Addis Ababa have friendly relations and the two leaders pledged to boost economic cooperation and trade.
Abiy said the two countries’ relationship was built on “mutual respect and trust”.
Erdoğan and Abiy oversaw the signing of military agreements, including a military financial cooperation deal. Details of the deals were not immediately available.
Meanwhile Erdoğan, who hosted General Abdel Fattah Abdelrahman al-Burhan, chairman of the Sovereignty Council of Sudan, in Ankara last week, said Turkey was also prepared to contribute toward a peaceful resolution of a dispute between Ethiopia and Sudan over the Al-Fashaga region.
“We are ready to make any contribution to an amicable resolution of the problem, including mediation,” he said.

አሜሪካ በኢትዮጵያ ላይ ጫና ያደረገችበት ሚስጥር – Ethiopia and US on Tigray Conflict
አሜሪካ በኢትዮጵያ ላይ ጫና ያደረገችበት ሚስጥር – ከጀርባ ያለው ማነው? ስንት ዶላር ተከፈለ?
The US administration pressured the Ethiopian government for the withdrawal of Eritrean and Amhara forces from Ethiopia’s Tigray region and said immediate humanitarian access must be granted to avoid widespread famine in the conflict-torn area.
In order to reach these decisions, an American lobby organization called VON BATTEN-MONTAGUE-YORK, L.C. has been hired to convince the congress members and senators.
Who is behind hiring the lobbyist to convince the US Congress members and senators? How much was spend on the job?

በትግራይ ክልል ተኩስ እንዲቆም የቡድን-7 ሀገራት ጠየቁ | አህመዲን ጀበል ከምርጫው ራሱን አገለለ | G7 on Tigray Conflict in Ethiopia
The U.S. and its G7 allies are concerned about recent reports of human rights violations and abuses and violations of international humanitarian law in the Tigray province of Ethiopia.
The U.S. Secretary of State, along with the G7 Foreign Ministers of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and the United Kingdom and the High Representative of the European Union is strongly concerned about recent reports of human rights violations and abuses and violations of international humanitarian law in the Tigray province of Ethiopia.
Fighting started in November when Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed sent federal troops into Tigray with the aim to “restore the rule of law” by ousting the governing Tigray People’s Liberation Front, following an attack on a federal army base. Since the fighting broke out, many people have fled Tigray and sought refuge in neighboring Sudan.
The G7, in a statement, “strongly condemn[ed] the killing of civilians, sexual and gender-based violence, indiscriminate shelling and the forced displacement of residents of Tigray and Eritrean refugees. All parties must exercise utmost restraint, ensure the protection of civilians and respect human rights and international law.”

The conflict in Ethiopia and TPLF’s ultra-nationalist ideology
Mustafa Omer is the President of the Somali Regional State in Ethiopia.
The Tigray People Liberation Front (TPLF) is at the heart of an ongoing bloody conflict with the federal government of Ethiopia.
The TPLF was established in the Tigray-majority region of Ethiopia in the 1970s as one of the many rebel groups fighting for freedom from Ethiopian imperial rule. The Tigray community, at that time, was marginalised by the feudal system. After the military overthrow of the imperial government, the front, like others, fought the newly established communist military government.
Along the way, the TPLF developed its elaborate ideology, combining ultra-nationalism and ethnic pride with a sense of victimisation, especially directed at the feudal Amhara elite and the communists. It propagates the divisive idea of “us vs them” – that the Tigray people are surrounded by enemies and only the TPLF can ensure their protection and survival.
After the party came to power in 1991 within the coalition of the Ethiopian People’s Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF), this hostile narrative did not go away and, in fact, took on an even broader scope. The Tigray Regional State came under TPLF control, which allowed the party to promote its harmful ideology among the whole Tigray population of Ethiopia undisturbed.
The TPLF also took control of the centre of power in Addis Ababa, when its head, Meles Zenawi, became Ethiopia’s president in 1991, remaining in power up until his death in 2012. It was under his leadership that the EPRDF propagated the spurious idea that the Ethiopian population consisted…
